MINEOLA, N.Y. (Stliusong) — Rapper Nicki Minaj’s mom, Carol Maraj, has recorded a $150 million claim against the one who is blamed for killing Minaj’s dad in a quick in and out crash a month ago, a lawyer for Maraj said.
Charles Polevich, 70, is blamed for striking Robert Maraj, 64, on Long Island on Feb. 12 and afterward driving off without calling 911. Maraj kicked the bucket at an emergency clinic the following day.
Polevich was captured on Feb. 17 on charges of leaving the location of an occurrence and messing with actual proof. He argued not blameworthy and was liberated on bail and requested not to leave New York state.
Newsday reports that Carol Maraj’s claim, documented in Nassau County state Supreme Court recently, claims that Polevich was careless, wild, and imprudent when he hit Maraj with his vehicle and supposedly left him at the scene.
“He was untrustworthy and careless, yet more worried about fleeing and stowing away than looking for help,” Benjamin Crump, one of the lawyers addressing Carol Maraj, said in an Instagram post-Friday.
A phone message was left Sunday with Polevich’s lawyer, recorded in online court records as Marc Gann of Mineola.
Nicki Minaj, who was conceived Onika Tanya Maraj, has not disclosed any articulation on her dad’s demise.
Hymn Maraj, the casualty’s antagonized spouse, revealed to Newsday a month ago that she was “extremely, glad” about Polevich’s capture and said the entirety of Maraj’s youngsters “is satisfied” that the supposed guilty party was gotten.
